OITNB: The machism's wrecking ball

Two years ago I was boring so I open up Netflix and started looking for something to see. I was recently finished Gossip Girl and althougt the plot is a little bit bad, the art work is really good. So I was trying to find something femenine but with content and Orange is the new black came to me as a key.

Orange is the new black was created by Jenji Kohan and have three season, 13 awards and one nomitaion to the golden globes. This serie is about Piper who was condemned to one year in womens prison for transport drugs for her ex girlfriend drug cartel. She was about to get married with Larry (Yes, a man) but the past come over to destroy (or save) her life. The serie is about her facing the prision, but also about the other inmates stories and the stuff that works on it. All get to the climax when Piper realize that Alex (her ex) is an inmate of the prision.

The reason because i love it so much is because portrays the reality in to womens world, facing every kind of themes without taboos. Lesbianism, abandonment, mistreatment, abuse, drug addiction and menthal health are some of the themes that are treat in the serie. The other thing a i like is that every inmate have a reason to be there, they are not bad people, they are there because of a bad life or bad desicions that came to their minds because of the things that had happened in to their lifes.

Orange is the new black have a lot of fans a round the world and no, they aren't just feminsm womens. We are on an anthropocentric time and we are changeing the way to think about the gender and the way our society talks about body. This serie is a big help to bring down the machism and install a new form to see us as equal, taiking care of us and being comprehenders insted of giving punishment to the one we don't understand.

The art of light

When people see scenic proposals ussually don't notice that many of the greatness of the show is given to them through the visual work. A good visual work can take a regular show and raise it. On of the parts of the visual scenic work is the illumination of the space. For me, this is the most important because whit out light we are blind.

My favourite lighting designer is LeRoy Bennet. He has worked for the most famous bands around the world and for the biggest shows too. His speciallity is television shows always related to music and arts. The Cure, David Bowie, Prince, Madonna and Beyonce are some of the artists who he has worked with.

In to his illumination work the lines are always a constant and the special capacity to create an entire atmosphere with only lights is one of the things that i like the most. One of my favourites works of him is the one with Nine Inch Nail. LeRoy Bennet worked whit them at the Tension Tour and did an amaizing job creating this scenary where the tension come to us all the time.

Other show that i love of him is the one he made for the Beyonce's Superbowl. There he explore a new kind of technique playing with the synchronization and the shadows, making for every song an scenary that fits perfectly.

Having a brand is the most important thing for an artist and LeRoy Bennet do that perfectly. In every work he has done we can see his name written all over. No matter the variety of artists he has work with he always stand up and bring something new to the scenary getting people amazed all around the world with his silent but extremly necesary and beutiful work.
